Quarantine Stories

Post-Industrial Productions is proud to introduce Quarantine Stories, a virtual evening of new spoken word stories, poems, and monologues created by the Western New York community and curated by the Post-Industrial Productions team.

Call for Stories

Post-Industrial Productions is seeking 2-4-minute stories, spoken word pieces, poems, or monologues (roughly 500 word limit) that can be performed by local actors for an audience on a virtual platform. These stories should address the COVID-19 crisis, and the difficulties the pandemic has created for communities, families, and individuals.

Weekly Themes

  • Week 1, 5/29 – Resilience. What’s the toughest part of your day? What is the best part? How do you move forward?
  • Week 2, 6/12 – Fear. What was an experience during this time that frightened you? Was there a specific moment that brought you into the realization that this experience would be different than all others?
  • Week 3, 7/10 – The Future. Once this is over, what memories do you think will stick with you? How will your life change?
  • Week 4, 7/24 – Hope. Give us an example of something that has given you comfort and hope during this time.

Connecting for a Cause

100% of the funds raised through Quarantine Stories virtual events will benefit select WNY nonprofits and charities.

Each installment of Quarantine Stories will help raise funds on the behalf of a different WNY nonprofit or charity. During the event, a donate button will be placed prominently in the viewing window and audience members will be encouraged to make a donation to benefit the participating organization.
